SAFE at SIU is a resource for undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, staff, and visitors of SIU. This website contains information about campus resources, crime reporting, crime prevention, and campus safety. Additional information is available on the site for the university’s procedures for incidents related to sexual violence, domestic and dating violence, stalking, and sexual harassment.

Additional links and information about Title IX are available. The Title IX Coordinator for SIU Carbondale is the Associate Chancellor for Institutional Diversity, Dr. Linda McCabe Smith. Her office is located in 110 Anthony Hall, or she can be reached via telephone at 618-453-1170.

The SAFE website was designed to allow the user to quickly access information specific to their needs. Information on the site falls under six different categories, and they are all designated with a large icon on the home page. The icons listed below and will take you to the corresponding pages.

     

Those with information about a crime that has occurred on campus, or any incident of sexual assault, domestic and dating violence, or stalking, should visit this website to complete the SIU Campus Crime Report. For compliance with the Clery Act, the Crime Report is submitted to Sgt. Chad Beights at DPS. For investigation under university policy, the Crime Report is submitted to Casey Parker with the Office of Diversity.
